50.03         State Funds Travel Regulations and Training                                  Issued: May 15, 1998

1.     For the most part, travel is governed by the following publications from the State Comptroller's Office:

        a.     Travel Allowance Guide
        b.     Travel Mileage Guide
        c.     Texas State Travel Directory
        d.     Out-of-State Meals & Lodging Rates Guide
        e.     Travel Newsletters

        Some additional travel regulations are contained in the TAMUS Policy Manual and the
        University's Administrative Procedures Manual. These publications are available in the
        University's Travel Manual and/or on the Internet via the web page for the Office of
        Finance and Administration.

2.     Travel Training

        As per TAMUS Policy (25.02.01), all travelers are required to receive training on
        applicable travel regulations.  Training is conducted by the Travel Office and all travelers
        attending the training class are provided with a copy of the University's Travel Manual.
        Follow-up training will be provided through distribution of updates and individual
        assistance provided by the Travel office staff.
