PVAMU Mourns the Loss of Sgt. Joseph Williams

 The PVAMU community is mourning the loss of Sergeant Joseph Williams, who passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1. 

Williams was an officer with the PVAMU Department of Public Safety since 2002. The Tomball native was a graduate of Sam Houston State University and had an extensive career in law enforcement, including a stint with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

“Sgt. Williams did a great job protecting the students, faculty and staff of Prairie View A&M University. He was committed to law enforcement and worked diligently to ensure the well-being of everyone on the campus,” said Fred Washington, vice president of auxiliary services.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10 at the Hufsmith Church of Christ, 24802 Hufsmith-Kohrville Road in Tomball.
