January 19, 2017

John AdolphPrairie View A&M University welcomes Pastor John R. Adolph, Thursday January 26th at 10 a.m. in the Opal Johnson – Smith Auditorium (MSC). Pastor Adolph will serve as the Guest Speaker for the 2017 General Assembly and kick off Black History Month and the President’s Lecture Series.

Pastor Adolph is a native Houstonian, pastor of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and CEO of Jehovah Jireh Village. Adolph is a graduate of Texas Southern University ’89, Morehouse School of Religion in Atlanta, GA and the Houston School of Theology. Because of his dynamic preaching and teaching of the word of God at Antioch membership has grown to nearly 9,000 since he assumed his position 15 years prior.

Adolph arrived in Beaumont with a vision for the city and community. The church purchased 29 acres of land upon which a new edifice was constructed. His vision went further and came to fruition with the city opening new streets, for the first time ever by a church, and the building of affordable homes for low to middle income families and first time homebuyers. Still, his vision did not stop there; a new building is under construction for a school for youth education as well as plans for Senior Citizen Apartments. The church has also partnered with the builder in the construction of affordable townhomes for low to middle income families and first time homebuyers. More recently, he established the Community Tabernacle Church in the San Jacinto mall in Baytown, TX and has instituted an extension of the Grace School of Theology for training of those interested in the ministry.

Dr. Adolph is active in many facets of both religious and community affairs. Adolph sits on the board of directors for the following organizations: Memorial Herman Baptist Hospital, the National Baptist Convention, Inc. of America, and the “I Have a Dream” program. He is the president of the Southeast Chapter of One Church One Child adoption agency, and a member of the Rotary club and ministerial alliance along with many more community endeavors.

He has authored several books, has a daily devotion blog. Adolph is the proud husband to Dorrie Eileen and father to Sumone and Jonathan.
