A Mosaic of Artistic Expression: Student Art Exhibition

BHMPrairie View A&M is proud to present the first annual Black History Month juried art competition and exhibition. Student artists are encouraged to submit art works in conjunction with the National Black History Month theme, Hallowed Grounds Sites of African American Memory or Prairie View’s theme, Black History A Mosaic of Artistic Expression.

To enter, students must submit work through this portal to be considered for the competition.  A maximum of three entries per student is accepted. The deadline for entries will be December 28, notification of acceptance will be January 18, 2016, and works are due in the 1st floor art gallery in the John B. Coleman Library, on January 28, 2016.

The competition is open to all undergraduate majors. Acceptable entries are works created within the 2015 calendar year, and must not have been on exhibition prior to this event.

Submissions are accepted from the following mediums: painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, photography, and video. Two and three dimensional works may not exceed 62” in any direction. Videos should be no longer than three minutes.
