March 22, 2006

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Prairie View A&M University head women’s basketball coach, Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, will host her inaugural basketball camp, “Camp Cooper”, on June 26-30 in the New Gymnasium on the university’s campus.

The camp, specifically designed for girls ranging from grades 5-11, offers an opportunity for them to improve their individual basketball skills in a fun environment. Instruction will be provided by Cooper-Dyke, a former two-time WNBA MVP and her staff.

“We plan to have a great time and the camp will give us a chance to introduce the university and its facilities to younger athletes,” said Cooper-Dyke. “I’m looking forward to instilling the passion for the game of basketball into the younger athletes.”

Camp Cooper will feature both day and overnight options for campers. The day camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. while the overnight camp spans from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuition for the day camp will be $150 and $220 for the overnight camp.   Tuition includes instruction, lunch in addition to a camp T-shirt and prizes.
