Name Use Requests
Requests to use the name Prairie View A&M University or PVAMU, photographs of the university, or any of its seals, logos, or symbols in advertisements or marketing materials, press releases, movies or television programs must be directed to the Office of Marketing and Communications.
Department & Administrative Unit Logos
All logos and wordmarks developed outside of the Office for Marketing and Communications must adhere to the brand standards, be uniform with the visual identity guidelines and will require approval prior to usage.
Social Media for Departments and Administrative Units
Prairie View A&M University’s Office for Marketing and Communications oversees the content, look and feel of all official University social media sites. To request a posting, please contact the Office of Marketing and Communications. Departments and Administrative Units may establish their own social media sites.
Passwords and Usernames for all social media sites established must be provided to the Office for Marketing and Communications to ensure that the sites can be maintained even if the initiator is no longer overseeing site content updates.
If a Departmental or Administrative Unit’s social media site has not been updated for 3 months, the Office of Marketing and Communications will discontinue the site.
Prairie View A&M University Business Card / Stationery Policy
You must have an official connection with Stanford and be conducting official university business in order to use Prairie View A&M University business cards and stationery.
Letterhead, business cards and envelopes containing the University Seal are limited to official University Communications specifically being distributed by the Office of the President, Executive Team Members (Vice Presidents) and College/School Deans. All others must use the Ignite Your Passion/Experience PVAMU letterhead, business cards and envelopes options.
PVAMU 140th Anniversary Logo
This emblem is limited to use from February 2016 through May 2017. All Departments and Administrative Units are encouraged to add the 140th logo to documents and communications throughout the recommended time period to showcase the University’s longevity.

The Office of Marketing and Communications works proactively to place subject matter experts in the national conversation about current events. If you are a subject matter expert and would like to be “pitched” as a news commentator to the media, please contact the Office of Marketing and Communications.
