With an 18:1 student-to-faculty ratio, we offer 38 undergraduate and 31 graduate degrees in everything from the arts and sciences, to STEM studies, to digital media, to juvenile justice…the list goes on.

When they’re not studying, our students enjoy more than 170 individual extracurricular activities—sports, arts, and social groups and more. They stay fit by swimming, playing hoops, and working out in our new recreation center. And this fall, our championship football team will kick off for the first time in the brand-new $65 million Panther Stadium.

We’re also proud of the diversity represented by our student body. PVAMU students come from 41 U.S. states and 43 countries, inspiring a culture of inclusivity that prepares all of our students to succeed in the global marketplace.

Geographically, we offer the best of both worlds: The main campus is located in a semi-rural setting but our trailblazing 15-story College of Nursing facility is in the heart of Houston’s renowned Texas Medical Center. The Northwest Houston center caters to the Northwest side of Houston and delivers the same world-class education that you have come to expect from PVAMU. Our fully accredited online courses are designed for undergraduates and graduates with busy schedules by still want to get a quality PVAMU Experience.

But here’s the clincher: Comparatively speaking, PVAMU is a bargain. It is considered a “best value” among Southern Public Universities—great news to the 82 percent of PVAMU students who receive financial aid. Even better, after graduation, PVAMU students average higher earnings than other students across the state of Texas.
