I am a junior English and Political Science double major with intentions of pursuing an international law degree and hope to one day work for the United Nations. I have always loved writing and love all words and things related to writing. I especially love the way authors intertwine imagery and other figurative language into great works. I even dream of writing my own novel one day! My long-term life goal is to get others to this point so that they too can see the beauty of writing. I am obsessed with all things Dr. Who and love re-watching old episodes. However, my favorite TV show ever is A Different World. In my spare time I basically am always looking up DIYs or tutorials on how to do random things so that I become a better me.
I am currently a junior at PVAMU with expectations of graduating in May 2015. I am majoring in communication studies with a minor in marketing. I aspire to become a public relations specialist or an advertising manager. I am looking forward to assisting a wide range of clients (celebrities, public-figures, and/or companies) manage, market, and maintain their images in a positive light. My hobbies include reading, writing, studying, shopping and hanging with friends. I also enjoy working in the Writing Center during my free time. I love being able to help others overcome the adversities and challenges of writing by introducing new skills (or refreshing old skills), methods, and techniques.
Hello, I am a junior Political Science major with a minor in Spanish. I aspire to become a bilingual attorney with a focus on international relations. My favorite book is V.C Andrews’ Flowers In The Attic, and my hobbies include modern dance and yoga. I have an affinity for poetry and free writing, while academic writing is my more developed skill. Nevertheless, I view the art of writing as a means of organizing and precisely communicating my ideas, and with my experience working closely with both graduate and undergraduate students at all stages in their development as writers, I look forward to assisting Prairie View students do the same!
Hello! I am originally from Livingston, Tx. Growing up as a child, I always had a passion for anything that had to do with art, so I convinced my mother let me take art classes after-school. As I became older, I developed an interest in the way buildings were designed and built. This led me to pursue a career in architecture. Now, I am a junior in the school of architecture. I plan on obtaining my master’s degree in architecture with a minor in construction science. I am currently a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Growing up in Houston I always had a passion for helping people around me. I felt like I could solve the problems of all children, which led me to the major of Social Work. I am currently junior, and I hope to use my degree in either an adoption agency or an orphanage. In my spare time, I like to hang out, cook, and practice American Sign Language.

Hello. My Name is Roger J Thomas III. I am a 20 year old Mass Communications major. I was born in Los Angeles, CA. I joined the Writing Center for one reason….. I love to write. Telling a story, sharing an idea, persuading with emotion is how humans with claim to intelligence communicate in a documented and unforgettable manner. Perhaps more important than that, I enjoy seeing other people’s work improve and seeing them learn from their experiences. I feel that this intrinsic reward leaves me invigorated to continue to change lives. One written work at a time.
Hi! My name is Paris Cunningham and I am an undergraduate junior Psychology Major from Wichita, Kansas. I expect to graduate from Prairie View in May of 2016 or earlier. After obtaining a bachelors degree in Psychology, I plan to continue my education and pursue a PhD to become a clinical child and adolescent psychologist. As a Psychology major, I understand the benefit of an adequate set of writing skills and I have always loved helping others succeed. When I am not on the tennis court with the PVAMU Women’s Tennis team, I am drawing, singing, or trying to find the answers to life’s many unanswered questions. Hope to see you soon!
