  • Non-Exempt Employee Promotion  -  An employee promotion is when an existing University employee is being hired into a position requiring higher qualifications such as greater skill or longer experience and involving a higher level of responsibility, a higher rate of pay, and a title change.  Use this template if the position is non-exempt based on FLSA. Please reference Appendices A and B of the University’s Compensation & Classification Plan to determine a position’s FLSA exemption status.
  • Exempt Employee Promotion- An employee promotion is when an existing University employee is being hired into a position requiring higher qualifications such as greater skill or longer experience and involving a higher level of responsibility, a higher rate of pay, and a title  change.  Use this template if the position is Non-Exempt based on the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Please reference Appendices A and B of the University’s Compensation & Classification Plan to determine a position’s FLSA exemption status.
  • Non-Exempt Employee Transfer – An employee transfer is when an employee is hired into a position that is considered a lateral move to a position in the same classified pay range (classified position) or to a position with comparable duties and responsibilities (non-classified positions). Use this template if the position is non-exempt based on FLSA. Please reference Appendices A and B of the University’s Compensation & Classification Plan to determine a position’s FLSA exemption status.
  • Exempt Employee Transfer- An employee transfer is when an employee is hired into a position that is considered a lateral move to a position in the same classified pay range (classified position) or to a position with comparable duties and responsibilities (non-classified positions). Use this template if the position is non-exempt based on FLSA. Faculty (Tenure-Track)

  • Tenure or Tenure Track Faculty – Use this template if the faculty title for the position is tenure or a tenure track position. Faculty titles fall under Appendix C based on the University’s Compensation & Classification Plan.

Temporary Staff

Faculty (Non-Tenure and Adjunct)

  • Non-Tenure Faculty – Use this template if the faculty position is non-tenure and at 50% effort or more. Faculty titles fall under Appendix C based on the University’s Compensation & Classification Plan.
  • Non-Tenure Faculty, Below 50% Effort – Use this template if the faculty position is non-tenure and is at less than 50% effort. Faculty titles fall under Appendix C based on the University’s Compensation & Classification Plan.

Graduate Assistants

  • Graduate Assistants (Returning) – Please use the template if the Graduate Assistant’s appointment is being extend without a break in service. If Graduate Assistant has had a break in service, please use one the above template “New Hire” templates.
