Dedicated to improving the overall health of the Prairie View community the Clinic provides an array of preventative health services including:

    • Preventative Health Screenings
    • Physicals
    • Allergy Clinic (Limited Services)
    • Immunizations
    • Tuberculin Testing (TB)
    • Vision & Hearing Testing
    • Confidential HIV Testing
    • STI Prevention Education, Diagnosis & Treatment

The Clinic offers preventative women’s health services such as annual exams, routine cervical cancer screen (Pap smear), STI screening, contraceptive counseling and services. The Clinic does not manage pregnancy, but can diagnose pregnancy and refer the patient for prenatal care.

Located in the Owens Franklin Health Center, the Student Health Clinic (Clinic) is staffed by licensed medical professionals who provide medical care for short term, acute illnesses and injuries as well as provide some chronic illness management.

Moving towards a model of integrated healthcare, the Clinic recognizes the importance of mental health in overall health and wellness. Staff access patient basic mental health needs and refer patients to mental health services in Student Counseling Services and the community.

The clinic provides a wide array of Health and Wellness Programs and Interventions to improve the overall health of the Prairie View community through increased knowledge and healthy behaviors such as:

    • Annual Dental Fair,
    • Annual Wellness Fair,
    • World AIDS Day Testing,
    • Alcohol Awareness Monthly Birthday Celebrations,
    • National Public Health Week, and
    • Collaboration with other Health Services departments on events focused on mental health, dating violence, sexual assault/awareness, & disability awareness.
  • The campus EMT services provides students with 24-hour access to care for life-threatening issues from trained providers stationed on campus to provide quick response to any student in need.
  • On-campus EMT services are not allowed to transport patients off campus. Transportation to a local facility is provided by Waller Country EMT at the student’s expense.

Do not be alarmed! The University Police Department (UPD) dispatches and accompanies the EMT providers to your location for your safety.
