Texas Center Advisory Committee Purpose
The Teacher Center Advisory Committee (TCAC) is mandated by Texas Administrative Code, Title 19, Part 7, chapter 228 to ensure that the preparation of Texas educators is a collaborative process with accredited primary and secondary schools, TEA recognized private schools, regional education service centers, institutions of higher learning, and representatives from area businesses and the surrounding community.  Prairie View A&M University’s Whitlowe R. Green College of Education is the organizing sponsor of TCAC and it has been in operation since 1999.

Committee Participation
TCAC’s role is as an advisor to the College of Education. The primary functions of the committee are to offer input and feedback on proposed policies and procedures regarding program development, content, implementation and evaluation and to advise faculty and staff based upon their direct interaction and observation of our graduates on campuses and in the community. Meetings are held twice annually, once in the fall and once in the spring of each semester. On occasion, other college representatives such as the Assistant Vice Chancellor of the Texas A&M University system, PVAMU’s Provost, and the President of the Faculty Senate also attend to give reports and to receive first-hand input.
