LPC Licensure


The Counseling Program meets the licensure requirements of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. The course work and practicum hours earned in the Master’s Degree will count toward the 48 graduate semester hours of course requirements outlined by theĀ Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. Students should consult their academic advisor for additional requirements for the LPC.

Students can take any 12 hours (4 courses) from those listed below to meet the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors eligibility requirement of 48 hours.
CNSL-5033 – Counseling Process
CNSL-5043 – Consultation
CNSL-5073 – Practicum II
CNSL-5173 – Individual Intelligence Testing
CNSL-5183 – Special Topics in Counseling
CNSL-5193 – Play Therapy
CNSL-5203 – Drugs and the Individual.
