The Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling (EDLC) offers on-line and traditional (face-to-face) Master of Education in Educational Administration. Courses needed to complete superintendent’s certification are offered online. The purpose of the department is to provide quality instruction, research, and service through outreach programs that foster knowledge, appreciation, and experiences in order to prepare Principals and Superintendents to meet the challenges of their educational goals and professions.

Online Courses

The online classes offered for through our Educational Administration Program are intended for persons who plan to be certified as a principal. Individuals needing more hours for their superintendent’s certification will find courses available through our on-line program. Our on-line Educational Administration requires 36 credit hours (12 classes), which will allow individuals to complete their Master’s degree in less than four semesters.

Traditional Classes

Classes for our Master of Education in Educational Administration are offered at our main campus in Prairie View and at our Northwest Houston Campus Center (9449 Grant Road), The 268 TExES Domains and Competencies and The Performance Assessment for School Leaders (PASL) instructional outcomes are integrated throughout the curricula, which reflects the high percentage of diverse certified principals from our program.
