B. S. ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

The Electrical Engineering program at Prairie View A&M University is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). This means that a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Prairie View is recognized nationwide.

The objective of the Electrical Engineering Department is to prepare the student for a successful professional career in electrical engineering. The curriculum is structured to provide each student with a sound background in the basic and engineering sciences and a thorough foundation in electrical engineering needed for the analysis and design of electrical and electronic systems. The curriculum provides courses necessary for technical competencies as well as courses and seminars on professional ethics and the responsibilities of the engineer. The program is offered with four areas of emphasis in Computer Engineering, Communications and Signal Processing, Microelectronics, and Power Systems and Control.

The department also has a 5-Year B.S./M.S. Degree Plan for undergraduates.
