Summer Engineering Education CAMP (SEEC)

Camp Mission

The mission of the SEEC Program is to introduce middle and high school students to engineering, strengthen their mathematics, skills, and motivate the students to succeed in College. The students will also experience college life by living in the dormitory, staying on campus for a week, living with roommate, interacting with College students, and being part of a collegiate environment.  The program will:

1- Provide multicultural experiences and academic enrichment activities.

2- Teach about contributions of scientists and inventors of under-represented groups.

3- Build self-confidence and self-esteem

This is a week-long resident program for middle and high school students, male and female, who are interested in the field of Engineering Students admitted to program will learn about engineering through hands on activities, experiments and laboratory tours. The students will work in teams to solve engineering problems. In addition, the students will also learn how to succeed in College.

  • Application Deadline June 30, 2016
  • SEEC Orientation July 18, 2016
  • Program Begins July 18, 2016
  • Program Graduation July 22, 2016

Inclement Weather Alert 9-20-2019

Due to inclement weather, the main campus and the northwest Houston center will delay opening until 10 a.m. The safety of our faculty, staff and students is of the utmost concern, please exercise caution as you make your way to campus. The College of Nursing, Medical center campus will remain closed today.
