On May 6, 2005 the Department of Physics participated in the annual Career Day at the O’Bryant Intermediate School in Bellville, Texas. Mr. Brian Cudnik and Mrs. Katrina Akita went to the school and made twelve presentations, each lasting 20 to 25 minutes, to groups of 25 to 30 fourth and fifth grade students. The total number of students was approximately 340. These presentations exposed the students to the wonders of science and technology and gave them opportunities to play with several toys, such as K’Nex roller coasters, that illustrate science and engineering concepts.
