Raevin Nicole Reyes was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on the 28th of November, 1990. She attended Tuloso-Midway High School where she was very involved in numerous activities including Naval Junior ROTC, Varsity Soccer, National Honor Society, and held at least one leadership position in each organization. In her senior year of high school, she earned multiple scholarships from being crowned Miss TMHS at her prom, won the Miss Cottonfest beauty pageant and scholarship, and a full scholarship to Naval ROTC in college, where she then chose to attend Prairie View A&M University.
Being the first of her generation to graduate high school, attend college, and seek a career as a Military Officer, Ensign Reyes set high standards for herself. She started her college career in July of 2009 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and simultaneously earned her commission in the United States Navy in December 2013.
Ensign Reyes will now embark on her naval career in January 2014 as a Surface Warfare Officer after completing the Basic Division Officer Course training in Norfolk, Virginia. In March 2014, she will report to (LSD 50) USS CARTER HALL in Little Creek, Virginia as a Division officer. Ensign Reyes plans to later further her education with a PhD in Clinical Psychology and specialize in working with children after her first four years in the Navy. Ensign Raevin Nicole Reyes is another COJJP alumna on the move!
