Transfer Students

Welcome to the College of Juvenile Justice and Psychology (COJJP) Transfer Students!  We are glad that you are considering transferring to Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU).  The information below provides admission selection and coursework information for transfer applicants for the Department of Justice Studies and Department of Psychology.

A potential successful COJJP transfer student must meet the following three requirements:

  • has a good academic and social standing at his/her prior institution.
  • has earned  a record of college work, meaning a C or better.
  • has earned  transferable credit earned at a community college or another two- or four-year college or university.

Planning Your Transfer to PVAMU

Prior to submitting your application, there are a few things you can do to get ready and to understand what courses will transfer to PVAMU.

  1. Meet with your academic advisor to discuss transferring to PVAMU and review the Texas Course Equivalency Guide, if a Texas resident.
  2. Completed State of Texas Common Application
  3. Pay Non-refundable $ 25.00 Application Fee
  4. Submit an official transcript’s from all Institutions Attended
  5. Must have earned a 2.00 Cumulative GPA on a 4.00 scale with at least 15 transferable college-level credits
