May 2019 Juvenile Justice Ph.D. graduate, Sherri Y. Simmons-Horton is also a Licensed Master Social Worker. Dr. Simmons-Horton has accepted a Post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Texas- San Antonio in the Graduate School of Social Work. There she will be examining racial disproportionality and resilience among youth of color in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. Dr. Simmons-Horton will also continue serving on the Advisory Committee to Promote Minority Adoptions through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
