Paris Cunningham, a PV scholar-athlete in tennis and rising junior in the Department of Psychology, participated in the McNair Scholars Summer Program at Wichita State University, an 8-week residential summer program stating on June 2nd and concluding August 1st. The mission of the program is to foster greater diversity in higher education by helping to increase the number of students from disadvantaged backgrounds who enter and complete Ph.D. programs. Ms. Cunningham worked in Dr. Rhonda Lewis’ research lab and presented an independent study on adolescent health and development. Ms. Cunningham’s research was titled “Who benefits the most from a Youth Empowerment Program?”
