The Gavel Series, a Community Based Legal Education Initiative, is designed to increase the Center and College’s community connection. This initiative is a partnership with the Waller County District Attorney,Mr. Elton Mathis, and Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace, Judge Marian E. Jackson to provide free legal education classes. These classes explore the law in a “user-friendly” format on the first Saturday of every quarter and the next Gavel Series is Saturday, June 7 from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in the Don K. Clark Auditorium. This series topics include student financial aid abuses, social security and disability claims, plus drug charges and punishment. Free continental breakfast should be provided!
