Chemistry, as a central science, ties together fundamental concepts from various fields such as mathematics, engineering, and medicine etc. The Department of Chemistry offers undergraduate students multidisciplinary versatility in the chemical sciences, and a Master of Science Program. Flexible programs provide excellent preparation for careers in teaching, industry, research and pre-professional training in the medical sciences and allied health fields.
The department is a ACS accredited program that has modern instrumentations and computers that are integrated into classes and laboratories. All current faculty members hold PhD in chemistry with diverse areas of research expertise. We create a personal and supportive environment for our students, and faculty are directly involved in professional development of students through undergraduate research with faculty. The department provides travel funds for students to attend professional meetings and presentations with faculty mentors. In addition, scholarships are provided to outstanding students.
