Expect From Employers2019-12-15T21:31:33+00:00
Students Can Expect From Employers…
- Confidentiality: Employers are expected to maintain confidentiality of student information, regardless of the source, including personal knowledge, written records/reports, and computer databases. Employers should not disclose information about students to another organization without prior written consent of the student.
- Accurate Information: Employers are expected to provide accurate information about their organization and employment opportunities. This includes, but is not limited to, positions available, responsibilities, and benefits of employment.
- Freedom From Undue Pressure: Employers are expected to provide students with reasonable time to make a decision about accepting an employment offer. They are also expected to provide students with a reasonable process for making decisions. For example, an unreasonable process is one in which a student is told a job offer is good for a certain time period, while not telling the student that the same offer has been made to another student, and the one who accepts first gets the job.
- Timely Communication: Employers are expected to inform students of their status in the hiring process, and should communicate hiring decisions within the agreed-upon time frame.
- Testing Information: Employers should inform students in advance of any testing, the purpose of the tests, and policies regarding disclosure of test results.
