Effective immediately, the PVAMU Parking Department will exempt parking fees for the following categories of Veterans (Students, Faculty, Staff & Visitors). Veterans in these categories must still register their vehicles with the Parking Office.
The following categories are:
– Medal of Honor (MoH)
– Distinguished Service Cross (U.S. Army), Navy Cross (U.S. Navy & Marine Corps), Air Force Cross (U.S.
Air Force)
– Silver Star
– Prisoner of War (POW)
– Pearl Harbor Survivor
The first three categories are the highest award for bravery in combat that can be awarded to an individual Soldier, Sailor, Marine or Airman.
When a Veteran who falls in these categories wants to register their vehicle on campus, the Parking Department staff will ask for verification from the Veteran’s DD-214 or DD-215.
For Veteran visitors, if they have a state issued license plate with one of these categories listed, their daily parking fee is waived.
Parking fees for special events will not be affected by this change.
