Application of biochemistry, mathematics, molecular biology, chemistry, physics, biotechnology to crop plant metabolic pathways in order to achieve increased global food and bioenergy production through:
(a) Doubling the nutrients (fatty acids, proteins, vitamins, carbohydrates etc) and crop yields ha-1 of the crops for the poor namely maize, leguminous and root/tuber crops (peanut, corn, cow pea, beans, sweet potato, yam tuber, soybeans etc).
(b) Maximizing the yields of fermentable cellulosic biomass while improving soil organic carbon contents and minimizing emission of noxious gases from the bio-energy crops (biomass sorghum, grasses etc).
