Application Procedure for the Graduate School

Students may apply for admission to the graduate school at any time after notification of computer matching to the DI program. Applicants must submit the following:

  1. University Graduate School application form,
  2. Transcripts
  3. Recommendations
  4. GRE scores
  5. Graduate school application fees.

Fees and recommendations submitted to the DI are not transferred to the graduate school.

Personal Statement

This is an opportunity to express your unique personality to the Selection Committee. It should represent who you are and tie together your background and experience that support your application: Please include the following types of information in the statement.

  • Why you entered the field
  • Your current professional goals
  • How the Prairie View A&M University Dietetic Internship will help you achieve your goals
  • Autobiographical information
  • Why you should be selected for the internship
  • Other information you believe will be helpful to the Selection Committee

Application Procedure for Grad. Students

Students may apply for admission to the graduate school at any time after notification of computer matching to the DI program. Applicants must submit the following:

  5. Graduate school application fees.

Fees and recommendations submitted to the DI are not transferred to the graduate school.

Appointment Procedure

An electronic mail notifying you of your computer match or appointment will be sent in April from D & D Digital System.

The applicant will contact the Dietetic Internship Director to respond to the appointment during the following hours: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST, immediately following notification.

The applicant will inform the Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics or his/her Advisor of the computer match and appointment, and of the final decisions made regarding the appointments.

Declaration of Intent/Verification Statement

This form is available on request from your DPD program director. It should be signed by the program director only. Only forms with original signatures will be accepted.

Official Transcript

Official transcripts of all academic work are to be sent to the program upon entry. Transcripts are kept on file in the department and cannot be forwarded to graduate admissions. Students accepted into the program must submit a complete graduate admissions packet to the university. This is separate from the internship program.

Selection Practices

Recruitment and selection practices are non-discriminatory.
Selections are made by an ad hoc committee made up of faculty within the department of Agriculture, Nutrition and Human Ecology.
