April 29 – For many farmers and ranchers, it is very difficult to receive the proper economic support to sustain their farms and livelihoods, but Prairie View A&M University continues to do its part by being a resource for these communities. Angela Moore, who serves as Program Specialist for the Agriculture and Natural Resources unit of the Cooperative Extension Program, recently had the opportunity to share upcoming community events for East Texas farmers with local news station KETK in Tyler, Texas.

Moore shared information about the special programs CEP has planned for Smith and Anderson Counties to provide resources through the USDA for socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers. By hosting three programs in the East Texas area, CEP hopes their efforts to be a source of support for these groups will not only positively impact the targeted farmers, but also the communities they serve.
