April – The College of Agriculture and Human Sciences congratulates the nine student applicants of the 2019 Greg Payne Scholarship who were each awarded $1,000.

To honor Prairie View A&M College of Agriculture and Human Sciences alumni Greg Payne after his passing in 2003, his family and the Minnesota Chapter of the National Organization of Black Natural Resources Conservation Service Employees began this annual scholarship fund in his memory. The fund provides scholarships to PVAMU CAHS students in hopes of encouraging them to go on to great careers in the field as Payne did. The Payne family and NRCS employees in Minnesota has awarded more than $70,000 to CAHS students since its inception.

In order to have been considered for the award, students submitted essays that included their

career and educational goals and ambitions for life. According to USDA Liaison Horace Hodge, the committee was very impressed with all applicants and decided to award each of them with a scholarship. Congratulations to the following students on this awesome achievement!
