On March 6-8, twelve Prairie View A&M Livestock Show Team members and 24 dairy goats from the International Goat Research Center (IGRC) competed at the 2017 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The team brought back numerous ribbons, as well as trophies for having the outstanding dairy herd, and Junior (kid) and Senior (Milker) group of sisters. While they were at the show, the students and goats were part of the celebrity milking competition, with a lot of radio and television exposure.

The PV Livestock Club members that showed goats were: Kamry Scott, Bryant Hunter, Paige Kemper, Anthony Brown, Maya Rollerson, Gerald Smith, Jarvis Ogilvie, Floyd Williams, Natalie Adams, Nakia Scott, Jeremy Brent and Asia Phillips. Many other members of the Livestock Club were also involved in the training and grooming of the goats before they went to the show. Club president is student Kamry Scott and club advisor is Scott Horner, Research Specialist, IGRC.
