Waller County 4-H Rainbow Club was elected by the Hempstead Chamber of Commerce to adopt and decorate a tree to beautify the city during the annual Festival of Lights Ceremony. The event was hosted by the City of Hempstead in their downtown area on December 10, 2016. Facilitated by extension agent Joshua Williams, the activity allowed 4-H members and volunteers to demonstrate teamwork and leadership. The event also helped to market the 4-H program sponsored by the Cooperative Extension Program to the surrounding community.
