H Gin Chong is best known for his research work on materiality and audit risk, performance measurements of firms, and governance and ethics. With more than 90 scholarly publications, his research appears in journals such as Advances in Accounting, The International Journal of Business, Accounting and Finance, Corporate Governance: An International Journal of Business in Society, and Managerial Auditing Journal. Dr. Chong is a recipient of several research awards including The International Academy of Business and Public Administration Disciplines (IABPAD) Best Paper Award (Dallas 2009), The College of Business Dean’s Excellence in Research Award (PVAMU 2008), Greatest Contributor in Research (Southampton Solent University, UK 1995), Addison Wesley Best Auditing Paper Award (Swedish Accounting and Auditing Research Colloquium, Sweden 1995) and Larry Sawyer Best Paper Award (MCB University Press, UK 1992). He received funding from the College of Business (PVAMU), The Higher Education Funding Council of England (UK), and a firm of consultants (Malaysia).  He sits on ten Editorial Board including The HBCU Business Review (USA), International Journal of Business and Emerging Markets (Canada), International Journal of Accounting and Finance (Canada), American Journal of Finance and Accounting (USA), Perspectives and Problems in Management: An International Research Journal (Ukraine), Journal of Applied Accounting Research (UK), and the Journal of Accounting & Finance (India).
