Frequently Asked Questions

The Executive MBA program is a fast-paced, highly structured program with Saturday hybrid courses. Twelve foundational courses are designed to empower students with professional competencies to be applied immediately in their own business environment. For students who want more schedule flexibility and a deeper knowledge of specific topics or more time in foundation courses, the College of Business offers a fully online MBA and evening or part-time MBA at the PVAMU Northwest Houston Center. Classes for this MBA program are offered online, in-class and in hybrid format.

A bachelor’s degree in business is not required! Students from all backgrounds are welcome: liberal arts, math, health care and so on. There is no GMAT requirement for admission to this program. Some international students may need to take the TOEFL, but there is no GMAT, GRE or thesis required for the EMBA program.

This is a two-year program. Classes are offered in the fall, spring and summer, with breaks between semesters. In the fall and spring semesters, students take two classes each semester: students spend eight weeks on one course, then eight weeks on the second course. Our format enables students to focus on one subject area at a time. To accommodate work schedules, students spend two Saturdays each month in class (three hours in the morning and three in the afternoon) and the other two weekends working online. In summer, each course is five weeks with classes meeting every Saturday.

Classes will be held at the Prairie View A&M University Northwest Houston Campus located close to Willowbrook Mall near FM 1960 and Highway 249. The address is 9449 Grant Road, Houston, TX 77070.

The PVAMU EMBA is priced competitively. Tuition and fees for each course is roughly $3,500 and the program has 12 courses. Students should expect to pay slightly more than $42,000 for the entire program. This cost includes all course materials such as books and other required documents, lunch on class days and a study abroad excursion. Some financial assistance may be available for tuition and fees, and individuals should check with their companies to see if they would be eligible for company reimbursement.
