Dr. Munir Quddus provided valuable insight into Bangladesh’s economy, focusing on the garment district, on National Public Radio’s Planet Money program.  Quddus’ knowledge of the country’s economy and the impact of the garment district, an area of his research, was sought out immediately following the May 2013 clothing factory collapse that killed over 1,000 workers; he was also quoted in an editorial piece in The New York Times.  Dr. Quddus, who has led the PVAMU College of Business for more than a decade, is also a professor of economics as well as co-author of “Entrepreneurs and Economic Development: The Remarkable Story of Garment Exports from Bangladesh.”
