Harmon Kelley, M.D.
PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (Feb. 1, 2023) – Prairie View A&M University and the Marvin D. and June Samuel Brailsford College of Arts & Sciences note with sadness the passing of our esteemed alumnus, Harmon W. Kelley, M.D., FOCAG. Dr. Harmon W. Kelly is the brother of a former dean of the Brailsford College of Arts & Sciences, Dr. Danny R. Kelly.
At Prairie View, Dr. Harmon W. Kelley was a member of the Army ROTC and commissioned as an officer in the United States Army. He met Harriet O’Banion at Prairie View, and they married on June 21, 1969. Through this marriage, Dr. Harmon Kelley became the son-in-law of Elmer E. O’Banion, for whom the E.E. O’Banion New Science Building is named.
Dr. Harmon W. Kelley died of a heart attack on Thursday, January 26, 2023. He was 77. The College sends condolences to his many family members, friends and colleagues.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Lewis Funeral Home, 811 S WW White Rd, San Antonio, TX 78220.
Dr. Harmon W. Kelley’s funeral is Thursday, February 2, 2023, at noon at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 11 St Luke’s Lane, San Antonio, TX 78209.
Contributions in Dr. Harmon W. Kelley’s honor may be made to the American Heart Association.
