Celebrating over 30 years of broadcast services to this Southeast Texas region, the KPVU 91.3FM and PV-U Kno family announces its Annual Fall fundraising campaign and appeal for the Prairie View A&M University family’s support to enhance the station’s daily public radio operations.

Your contributions to public radio are critical to the success of the station and donations will allow KPVU 91.3FM the opportunity to expand the delivery of the 24/7 music, news and public affairs programming services; enhance the student development & training program and increase community promotions and outreach initiatives. KPVU public radio is licensed to Prairie View A&M University and began airing on Thanksgiving Day in 1981.  Over the years, the station has expanded its broadcast services beyond Waller County to include: Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Grimes, Washington, and Austin Counties.  The station also manages a student-run, on-line radio station PV-U Kno, that serves as another radio training facility for aspiring communications and broadcast professionals.

The campaign officially kicks off on Friday, October 24 and will feature a variety of daily themes of salute and recognition, special studio guests, as well as specially-designed donor thank you gifts. The event will include over 50 volunteers (individual and/or organizations) answering pledge phones, packaging donor thank you gifts and assisting in a variety of campaign/studio projects.

Donations can be made by calling 936.261.5788; Online at pvamu.edu/kpvu (donate link) or you may stop by the KPVU studios in Hilliard Hall. Prairie View employees also have a Payroll Deduction option available and contributions to public radio are tax-deductible.  Contributions also help to provide upgrades to the broadcast/transmitter services, the state-of-the-art studio equipment, the airing of the Panther Sports Broadcasts, and support of educational/awareness services, etc., etc. …. all designed to help make KPVU’s services better for YOU our listeners/donors.
