Mandatory Meningitis Information

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) requires that incoming college & university students receive the MCV4 vaccine to combat bacterial meningococcal disease. The Texas Department of State Health Services Immunization Branch, in consultation with the THECB, built this site as a resource to help students navigate the new requirements. Please read the information provided, and remember…vaccines aren’t just for little kids! To learn more about the requirements for college please follow the link. College Vaccine Requirements.

Students may be unable to register for classes until this requirement has been satisfied.  The vaccine must be administered within the past five years and at least 10 days before the first day of classes.  For Fall 2018, the 1st day of classes is August 27, 2018 and the vaccine must be administered by August 17, 2018.
