Welcome future Panther Battalion Cadets! You are about to embark on an adventure that will set the foundation for your professional career. Army ROTC is the most exciting college course you can take at Prairie View A & M University. It will introduce you to a unique concept of leadership which will benefit you in every aspect of your professional career. Our classes are offered in two parts with the classroom instruction and lab class. Every week you will learn leadership skills, survival techniques and participate in challenging athletic events.

This worksheet lays out the students plan for completing classes in a timely manner toward their degree and includes Military Science lecture classes, labs and PT course. Army ROTC Course Overview
ARMY 1111/1171, 1121/1181(FRESHMAN -MS I): Overviews leadership fundamentals, such as setting direction, problem-solving, listening, providing feedback, and using effective writing skills. Cadets will explore dimensions of leadership values, attributes, skills, and actions in the context of practical, hands on, and interactive exercises. Provides practical exercise in command, organization, and control of small elements with emphasis on physical fitness, using U.S.. Army Physical Readiness Training as a model. ARMY 2212/2271, 2222/2281 (SOPHOMORE-MS II): provides an overview of leadership fundamentals and military tactics. Cadets will explore topics such as leadership style, effective army writing, army values, troop-leading procedures, land navigation, terrain analysis, squad tactics, and basic principles of military operations. HIST/ARMY 2203: The goal of this course is to contribute to students’ basic understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the U.S.. Army in American society. Students should be conversant in myriad social, cultural, economic, and political forces that impacted the American military experience. ARMY 3313/3371, 3323/3381 (JUNIOR-MS III): is a comprehensive overview designed to emphasize and fine tune those leadership and management skills required to attend Leader Development & Assessment Course (LDAC). Additionally it will instill in the MS III Cadet the confidence and level of professional competence necessary to effectively function as an officer in the U.S.. Army. This objective is to be achieved by integrating all MS III level cadets into leadership positions and organizational phases of all Panther Battalion activities. ARMY 4413/4471, 4423/4481 (SENIOR – MS IV): is a comprehensive overview designed to emphasize and fine tune those leadership and management skills acquired at Leader Development & Assessment Course (LDAC). Additionally it will instill in the MS IV cadet the confidence and level of professional competence necessary to effectively function as an officer in the U.S.. Army. This objective is to be achieved by integrating all MS IV level cadets into the planning and organizational phases of all Panther Battalion activities.
