Dr. Sesha Kethineni, professor in Prairie View A&M University’s Department of Justice Studies, recently started focusing her research on cryptocurrency and its involvement in criminal activities. She and graduate student Ying Cao published their first peer-reviewed article on the topic Use of Bitcoin in Darknet Markets: Examining Facilitative Factors on Bitcoin-Related Crimes in the “American Journal of Criminal Justice.” This article is one of the most read articles on Blockchain. Kethineni and Cao’s second article, The Rise of Popularity of Cryptocurrency and Associated Criminal Activity, is published in the “International Criminal Justice Review.” Kethineni continues to expand her research on the topic and submitted a book chapter on Cyber Crime in India: Legislative Framework in “The Palgrave Handbook of International Cybercrime and Cyberdeviance.”
